Turneffe Island Lodge

The Lodge is a favorite resort for fly fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling in Belize. This 14-acre private Island is located 30 miles off the coast of Belize on the Turneffe Atoll and situated near some of the best scuba diving and fishing.
Come enjoy the pristine waters and swaying palm trees on your very own white sandy beach, all outside your deluxe lodge room or private cabana at Turneffe Island Lodge.

The Accommodation

Turneffe Island Lodge has four lodge buildings with multiple rooms. Each room has a private bath and shower, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Rooms with two beds are also available upon request. All windows have screens and may be opened to enjoy the ocean breeze. The majority of the rooms at Turneffe Island Lodge have a queen bed and single bed configuration. There is ample solar heated hot water and air conditioning. The island office has a supply of hair dryers, irons and alarm clocks on hand for guest use. Upgrades to our luxurious private cabanas are also available.

Along the southern coastline of Turneffe island are eight private cabanas. The interior of each cabana from floor to ceiling is constructed from Belizean mahogany. The cabanas have over-sized windows and screened porches to allow for spectacular views. The final design feature was the addition of a private outdoor shower. Each cabana has a separate dressing area with an oversized closet and are either furnished with a queen and full sized bed or with a queen bed and sitting arrangement consisting of a loveseat and two chairs which is ideal for socializing in the evenings. The private cabanas are the most preferred accommodation on the island as you can enjoy the privacy and solitude that is so often sought when someone travels to a remote destination.

Activities

Relaxation:
Turneffe Island Lodge is one of those rare settings that will allow you to escape deep into your thoughts or search for new ones without interruption.

Snorkelling:
Numerous snorkeling sites are within minutes of Turneffe Island Lodge. We schedule two snorkeling trips each day. The schedule is flexible so just let us know when you have an interest

Diving:
While 3 dives a day are offered at Turneffe Island Lodge, the program is designed to let you choose which dives to take or to take all 16 of them, including our night dive! The first dive will take place shortly after breakfast, the second before lunch and the third dive mid-afternoon. Generally scheduled (weather permitting) for Tuesdays is a day-trip to the Blue Hole on our 48' Custom dive boat. On this trip, you will also dive Half Moon Caye Wall, enjoy a picnic lunch and visit the Red Footed Booby Bird sanctuary. Your last dive will be at Long Caye Wall.

Fishing:
Turneffe Atoll is known worldwide for its incredible flats fishing. The grand slam of fly fishing (tarpon, permit and bonefish) is a realistic goal at Turneffe Island Lodge. Offshore fishing could net you wahoo, sailfish, marlin, and more. We recommend bringing your own fishing gear.
