Salvador - Brazil Located in the Bay de Todos os Santos, Salvador de Bahia which was the first capital of Brazil, has many wrecks besides beautiful coral reefs. The dive points can be easily and quickly reached, and the waters inside the bay present an annual average temperature of 26C. During the summer the water visibility reaches 30 meters and during the winter it can reach 20 meters.
Salvador is also an unforgettable city with cultural assets and a long history, famous beaches and a contagious good spirit. Who goes to Salvador to dive must not forget that this city can offer some of the best attractions in Brazil; a beautiful and Unesco protected colonial center (known as Pelourinho), a delicious cuisine famous for its seafood and a warm and lively atmosphere, makes your stay in salvador a journey of a lifetime both for divers and non divers.

DAY 1
Arrival at Salvador Airport and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. We suggest getting in touch with the diving club to schedule the dives for the next day and rent the necessary equipment.

Days 2 to 6:
Those days are dedicated to wreck diving. We board our boat trip for 2 daily wreck dives, as scheduled on the day before. The transfer to the pier from your hotel is not included. Upon return scheduling of the dives for the next day.(B)

Day 7:
Day at leisure for optional activities, such as the visit of the beautiful village of Cachoiera.(B)

Day 8:
At the agreed time, transfer to the airport for your flight out. (B)

Wrecks in Salvador:

o Banco da Panela - one of the largest archaeological sites in Brazil - transformed in a protect area by the Navy, the collection of any artefacts from the bottom is strictly forbidden - it is located by the entrance of Salvador's port, with an average depth of 15 meters;
o Blackadder - Norwegian coal trading ship 80 meters long. The depth ranges from 8 to 12 meters;
o Bretagne/Germania - The debris of these 2 ships are mixed on the bottom. Depth of 8 meters;
o Cap Frio - Sunk 80 years ago. Depths from 10 to 12 meters. Excellent night dive;
o Cavo Artemidi - Sunk in 1980. Cargo ship with 170 meters of length. Depths from 9 to 30 meters;
o Sacramento Galleon - Sunk in 1668. Located at 32 meters;
o Ho Mei III - Chinese fishing boat 47 meters long. Located at 36 meters;
o Maraldi - Sunk in 1875. Depths between 4 and 12 meters;
o Parana/Salvador - The debris of the first are at 19 meters and the other at 12 meters;
o Piacava - Debris of ships from the 18th century. Large habitat of octopuses and lobsters;
o Queen - Sunk in 1800. Located at 22 meters;
o Utrech - Dutch galleon sunk during the 17th century. The debris is at 22 meters;
o Vapor da Jequitaia - a well-preserved steamship, 27 meters long, between 4 and 8 meters of depth.

Rated: Easy/Moderate.

We recommend divers have CMAS Level 2 or Advanced Padi credentials.

The departure of the boat depends on the local weather conditions. If the safety of the passengers is jeopardized, the departure may be postponed until favorable weather conditions. The program order might then change without previous warning.

The best time of the year to dive is between the months of September and April.
