Amazon Floating Lodge - Amazon - Brazil The Amazon Floating Lodge was inaugurated in 1982 and is the pioneer for sustainable tourism development in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest, being classified as "Standard Ecological Lodging" by the Brazilian Tourism Bureau (EMBRATUR). The Lodge is floating on Juma Lake 4 hours away (80 km / 50 miles) from Manaus, Southbank of the Amazon River, on the Parana do Mamori River System, upstream Rio Juma.
Situated within a 1000 ha Private Biological Reserve of untouched primary Rainforest protected since 1984, it is the best spot for a visit to the Rainforest around the Manaus area. The main attraction is the 45 meters high (140 ft) Canopy Tower Platform, recently inaugurated and considered as one of the highest of the Amazon Bassin.
This is a human size lodge accommodating 24 people maximum in a very picturesque complex in perfect harmony within its environment. The main interest not only lies into the Canopy Tower, but also the diversity of the adventure and cultural packages available, from hiking and conoeing into the Amazon Jungle to Native traditions as well as survival trips.....

The Amazon Lodge consists of a central "open air" swimming module and 6 swimming side modules with all necessary infrastructure.
Each of the 12 apartments have bug screens, two single beds, fans (2 apartments have A/C), a veranda with a bar with hammocks.
There are 3 central showers and 3 central toilets
A reception and bar with comfortable sofas, hammocks and chairs, perfect for relaxing before and after excursions, or to enjoy a chat with new friends accompanied by a local drink.

Amazon Floating Lodge  - Amazon - Brazil A rustic roof top restaurant, built with local material, all mosquito screened with a great atmosphere to experimente the delicious local cuisine.
A recreation area, in fact a large sun deck, where you can swim, sun bath, read and relax surrounded by nature.
The lodge has a generator with 110V energy available for a few hours at night only. Alternative sources of energy are also being used.
No hot water is available but water temperature is usually 26-32 degrees Celsius, all year around.
Due to the water high acidity (pH 3.9), mosquitoes, viruses and other pests which cause cholera, dengue, malaria and yellow fever, do not proliferate in the area.

You have the choice between the 3 following packages:

Jambu - 3 days/2 nights

Day 1 :
Pick up at the airport or at your hotel in Manaus at 2 pm. Visit of Ceasa Market Port where we board a boat to Careiro, via the "Meeting of the Waters". Then, our van brings us to Araca from where we continue in speed boat to the Lodge. After dinner, an excursion is organised for an amazing experience of the pristine jungle at night to spot caimans on the river. (D)

Day 2 :
After breakfast, we leave for a morning jungle trek followed by a fishing excursion after lunch trying to catch piranahs, tucanare or tambaqui. Our local guide explains us all we wish to know about life in the Amazon Forest. (BLD)

Day 3 :
Early departure to visit the Caboclo Village to learn more about Amerindian customs (they are the decendants of old local tribes). Lunch and continuation to Manaus. Arrive at 5pm and transfer to the airport. (BL)

Day 1 :

Jungle Safari - 06 days/05 nights - camping out and sleeping in hammocks

Day 1 :
Pick up at the airport or at your hotel in Manaus at 2 pm. Visit of Ceasa Market Port where we board a boat to Careiro, via the "Meeting of the Waters". Then, our van brings us to Araca from where we continue in speed boat to the Lodge. After dinner, an excursion is organised for an amazing experience of the pristine jungle at night to spot caimans on the river (D)

Day 2 :
In the morning we are briefed about basic jungle survival tips. After lunch, we board our motorised canoe and begin our jungle expedition. We set up camp (hammocks) by the Caboclo riverside and undertake a jungle hike to explore the pristine jungle surrounding us. It is also an opportunity to learn more about the Cablocos customs (they are the decendants of old local tribes)(BLD)

Days 3-5 :
We spend 3 days in the Amazon Jungle, far from civilisation and out of the beaten tracks. We paddle quietly along the many river arms that make their way through the thick Amazon Forest, discovering a lush flora and an amazing wildlife, learning to survive in this hostile environment. Each night we set up camp (hammocks) along a river bank somewhere in the jungle.
We are back at the Lodge in the morning of day 5 in time for the survivors cocktail. Free afternoon to relax at the Lodge. (BLD)

Day 6 :
Departure to Manaus. Arrive at noon and transfer to the airport. (B)
