An incredible journey of 6 days to the Corral de Los Caballos, high in the Andean Cordillera. This journey is designed for those who wish to experience a true week long Andean horse packing adventure, passing through high mountain ranges, visiting beautiful valleys, rivers, springs and rugged peaks. An exiting "journey of a lifetime" with a team of experienced guides and arrieros, exquisite food and plenty of music under the stars.
The Itinerary
DAY 1:
Pre-breakfast departure from Santiago to the Maipo Valley. After breakfast, we depart from our corrals nearby the Nature Sanctuary and start
a steep ascent of the Cordillera through a private sanctuary, winding our way along trails towards El Maqui Pass and the Rincon Del Rodeo Valley.
Once we reach our campsite, the arrieros help you setting up camp with plenty of time left for exploring the surrounding area. Overnight at campsite Rincon de Las
Mariposas (B L D).
DAY 2:
After breakfast, we ride along the length of the Rincon Del Rodeo Valley, gently ascending into the heart of the
cordilleras, stopping for lunch and a rest along the way. The views are breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of the entire area. At
the end of the day, we reach the beautiful mountain stream Coyanco and we camp near its crystal pools. Overnight in campsite Casa de Piedras de Las Yaretas (B L D).
DAY 3:
We follow the Estero Cayanco, passing through beautiful huge vegas (mountain pastures) and over a 3400 meter pass, to our destination at Corral de Los Caballos, at the
spring of the Estero Cayanco, a magical place of spectacular waterfalls and pools. Overnight in campsite Corral de Los Caballos (B L D).
DAY 4:
Today, we rest or hike around the surrounding area or ride through the nearby beautiful valleys and canyons. Overnight at Corral de Los Caballos campsite (B L D).
DAY 5:
After breakfast, we ascend to the headwaters of the Estero Manzanito, passing along the ridge of the Cordilleras and through beautiful flower-filled vegas, surrounded
by crystalline springs. Overnight at campsite El Rincon de Las Perdices (B L D).
DAY 6:
Along a spectacular route with incredible views of the Maipo Valley and its Cordilleras, and return to the Nature Sanctuary at Cascade de Los Animas. We
stop for lunch at Estero el Pangal before continuing the final ride to the Sanctuary, After a rest, we meet for a final farewell dinner. Evening transfer back to hotel in Santiago (B L D).
