Located in the heart of the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, Almonds & Corals Lodge is a delightful relaxing place with the magic touch of Nature; a unique idea for accommodation. This is a rare opportunity to get a feeling for the jungle, living in a forest so dense that the sunrays hardly touch the ground. Each tent is placed over a platform lifted up on stilts and protected by a roof. Climbing plants, bromeliad and orchids hang from the branches, and as you walk through the forest, suddenly you are in front of the magnificent Caribbean with your feet on golden sand, coconuts and the bay of Manzanillo, where you can almost hear the rhythm of calypso.

The Itinerary

Day 1:
At 8:00 a.m., we meet you at the lobby of the hotel to drive you to Gandoca Manzanillo. Even the transfer is an exciting experience, since you pass through the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park, which lies in one of the most rugged zones in the country. Typical of the park's landscape are tall mountains with steep slopes covered by dense forest and numerous rivers that cave deep canyons. A multitude of waterfalls can be seen everywhere. At 12:00, you arrive at the Lodge, located into the Gandoca Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge on the southern coast of Costa Rica, between the Atlantic Ocean and the region's largest stand of virgin rain forest, the Talamanca Mountain Range. Guests can enjoy bird watching, hiking, bicycling, nature photography, horseback riding, swimming and snorkelling as well as get involved in a research in tropical biology. Day 2:
Free day to relax at the private beach or enjoy on of the many optional excursions (not included) such as snorkelling, visiting green iguana farm, Gandoca-Manzanillo National Park, Cahuita National Park or why not a boat trip with snorkelling or diving to Bocas del Toro in Panama. Overnight at Almonds & Corals (B D).

Day 3:
Seize the morning at the beach or in the forest before heading back to San Jose. (B).
