General Information

One of the biggest advantages of land-based diving, is that you travel to specific dive sites like Gordon's Rocks and other places where more animals are habitually seen. Also, these places aren't often visited during a regular tour of the islands.

Land-based diving begins at Puerto Ayora with one of a few dive operators. You usually leave early in the morning (around 7:00 ) and arrive to the morning dive site. After the morning dive, lunch is provided as well as a much needed rest. You'll go to the afternoon dive site, dive, and return to Puerto Ayora in the late afternoon.

In the price of the daily land based dives is included: two dives (except when mentioned differently), dive boats, dive master/guide, full scuba gear (complete wet suit, regulator with octopus, BC, mask, snorkel, fins, gloves, scuba tube, tanks and weightbelt with weights), box lunch (except Academy Bay)

The prices do not include transfers to/from airport, air tickets, the USD 100 National Park entrance fee, transport or hotel unless specified. A one off administration fee of £ 20, USD 30, Euro 35 will be charged per booking.

All of the daily diving tours as well as package tours are tailor-made as safety comes first. We therefore require information about the diving experiences of each passenger in order to tailor a program that fits the skills and interests of all.

While with most sites, you travel directly to the dive sites, dive, and return to Puerto Ayora, there are two of the sites that require overnight stays. Darwin and Wolf Islands, located far to the northwest, have no visitor sites, making them unaccessible for those touring by land. Because of the magnificent animal-life and depths, they are challenging dives meant for more accomplished divers.It is possible to see these islands with an overnight boat stay with a dive operator out of Puerto Ayora, or to charter them as part of a live-aboard diving tour

Floreana
