Nicaragua Holidays

A true water and volcano paradise

Introduction to Nicaragua

Nicaragua is Central America's largest country and has the lowest population density. Its nature is as stunning as its neighbour, the fashionable Costa Rica, but here you really find hidden gems, places not overrun with travellers, doted with a unique and exuberant nature as well as a true and uncompromised people holding a warm and vibrant culture.

White-sand unspoiled Caribbean or Pacific beaches are always desert and sunny, the lush rainforest is filled with orchids and more than 700 bird species, the thorny mountainous spine of Nicaragua holds no less than 63 volcanoes, many of them still active and easily accessible.... a volcanologist paradise. The immense Nicaragua Lake has hundreds of small volcanic islands, some of them outstanding nature reserves or of high archaeological interest.
Its rich colonial heritage, the new discovery of remains from the Naracoa culture combined with the thriving Miskito Indians communities makes Nicaragua a land of culture.
