Bird Watching in Nicaragua

"Nicaragua"

Masaya - Nicaragua For the bird watcher this is a truly memorable experience. Birding Nicaragua is not only the first and only tour of its kind in Nicaragua, but also one of the most diverse nature watching experiences available anywhere. What's more, your visit does not just benefit your own bird list, but also that of the scientists working here in Nicaragua. Nicaragua's bird life is the least studied in the region and you can help to uncover this wealth of diversity and airborne beauty. Last counts from Sibley and Monroe's checklist put the species at 688 from 59 families, but you can be sure there are much more. Note that Nicaragua has more "specialty" birds (those which can be found only in Central America), a total of 19, than any other Central American country. This program lead by a famous ornithologist, one of the leading researchers of bird life in Nicaragua who works for the Cocibolca Foundation which runs several of the country's nature parks, we visit 6 distinct ecosystems and 6 different nature reserves:
