During this journey we explore the natural
beauties and experience the quietness of Solentiname Archipelago,
composed of 36 enchanted islands south east inside the great Lake Nicaragua.
Solentiname has a rich past and is not only famous
not for its wildlife, its primitivism art colony, its
semi-revolutionary activities and the poet Ernesto Cardenal, but also for its unique
nature and traditions.
Hospitality, peaceful way of living, the painters' community, the wood
carvers and the little ecological museum are
the major attractions. Solentiname is still out of the beaten tracks.
The Itinerary
DAY 1: Managua - San Carlos - Solentiname.
Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the airport to board a domestic flight to San Carlos.
Upon arrival you are transferred to the dock located on the bank of
lake Nicaragua and board our private river boat to the famous Solentiname Islands, an
archipelago of small islands inhabited by all kind of wildlife. On our way we visit
Elvis Chavarria Islands, Mancarron Main Island and drop by the famous painters and wood carvers community.
We have lunch at the famous poet "Ernesto Cardenal" Hostal and during the afternoon you
explore on your own the island. (LD)
DAY 2: Solentiname
Free day to enjoy the island and explore the surroundings. 5BLD)
DAY 3: Solentiname - San Carlos - Managua
After breakfast, departure to San Carlos on our private boat to San Carlos Airport
to board your return flight to Managua.(B).

This tour should be combined with a visit of Indio Maiz Reserve
and/or Los Guatuzos Reserve.
Remember that the lodging conditions do not provide the comfort
you might expect. This tour can only be recommended to visitors aware
about the difficult travel conditions in the region.
