Campamento Camani is a unique tourist lodge located in the midst of
pristine jungle, the land of the Piaroa, Maquitare and Yanomani Indians.
Native guides teach you the local customs, communities, and environments.
On foot, in canoes, and in speedboats, we visit tropical plantations and
navigate the Ventuari River to watch fish, turtles, cayman and playful
freshwater dolphins. Immense rivers, waterfalls, and mountains,
solemn peoples, and bizarre plants and animals, accompany you on a trip
that stretches your imagination beyond belief.
The Itinerary
There is no day by day itinerary. You stay as long as you want and participate in the excursions organised by the Camp Manager (speaks fluent English, French, Italian and German) and guided by experienced jungle guides.
Excursions: camping in the jungle, horse riding, jungle hikes, visits to
remote Indian tribes, river excursions. We learn about the
incredible world of the Ventuari River (the fourth largest river of Venezuela),
bathe along its beautiful river beaches and the waterfalls of de Piedra or Tencua,
visit aboriginal communities and the San Juan de Manapiare and Las Mercedes
Missions, the Santa Barbara and Yutaje fields, the Culebra Community,
situated on the border with Brazil and admire sweet water dolphins, small alligators or
"babas", river turtles, macaws, ducks and many other species.
Rain forest with unique birds, gigantic trees and the
most spectacular orchids call Camani their home
Ethnology and Anthropology:
For those interested in ethnology and anthropology, Camani offers journeys
of great emotion to all the areas surrounding the Ventuari, the Upper Orinoco,
the Venezuelan Plains, the Sierra de Paria, the Gran Sabana and the Autana, the sacred mountain.
You navigate the "Humboldt Route", following the rivers and lagoons
that bring you to the Amazon River. You select the places and we
organise the excursions, facilitating the equipment and the guidance of
specialised people.
Fishing expedition:
Why not go fishing in the Ventuari River, its affluent rivers or nearby
ponds. All journeys use high speed boats and native specialised bilingual guide (Spanish-English).
