Venezuela Holidays: Canaima & Angel Falls

This first class journey brings you into close contact with the fabled "Lost World" of Canaima National Park, discovering landscapes of high tabletop mountains looming over impenetrable forests, savannahs, splendid lagoons and spectacular waterfalls, amongst them, the Angel Falls.
The Angel Falls are not only the world's highest waterfall (979 m), but also form the world's greatest uninterrupted drop (807 m or 16 times the height of Niagara Falls). From the largest and most awe-some tabletop mountain of the Gran Sabana, the Auyantepuy ("mountain of the evil god" in the Pemon language) the water tumbles down into the jungle of the Canyon del Diablo.

DAY 1: Canaima
Arrival in Canaima and transfer to your Lodge. We use only human sized lodges providing a comfortable lodging as well as a perfect service, which differ from the usual lodges storing tourists like canned beans. (D)

DAY 2: Canaima
Free day to wander around Canaima Lagoon to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the National Park. Optionnal excursion Overnight in Lodge. (BLD).

DAY 3: Canaima
Free day in Canaima. Optionnal excursion Overnight in Lodge.(BLD)

DAY 4: Canaima
Free morning in Canaima and transfer to the airport for your flight back. (B)

Orchidea Island
Full day canoe journey to this island surrounded by the Auyantepuy.
Yuri Falls
Half day excursion in boat to the nearby Salto Yuri.
Sapo Falls
Half day excursion in boat to the nearby Salto Yuri.
Kavac
Full day excursion to Kavac (5 hours max), a Pemon Indian settlement on the other side of the Auyantepuy. Hike into Kavac Canyon and its caves.
Overflight of the Angel Falls
1 hour flight over the Angel Falls in DC3, an unforgettable experience (weather permitting).
Full day Angel Falls
Instead of flying over the Angel Falls, why not travel to the bottom of this awesome waterfall. The journey takes a whole day but leaves an unforgettable impression. From July to December only.
3 days/2 nights Angel Falls
More adventurous minded people may prefer this journey that includes one night in Canaima and another night below the Angel Falls (both nights in hammock). This excursion is in general purchased separately from the above package. Ideal for backpackers. BEST VALUE FOR MONEY
