Sea Kayaking in Mochima National Park

"Venezuela"

Parc national de Mochima - Caraibes - Venezuela After your adventure journey in the south of Venezuela or the Orinoco Delta, why not relax for a few days at the beach, exploring the Mochima National Park by kayak? Along the tortured coast, you discover more than 30 wild islands, scores of remote creeks, unspoiled beaches for yourself alone (hidden away but with our guidance you have them all to yourself) and a coloured seabed. Various picturesque fishermen villages scatter the coast. Wildlife is best represented by sea birds, iguanas, monkeys, parrots, venison and foxes.
Thanks to the numerous islands, the sea conditions are normally calm, so this journey of approximately 50 km requires only basic kayaking skills. We just have to cross a little stretch of open sea, which may require a bit more technique. The itinerary can be adjusted by the guide to fit participants' abilities and the state of the weather and the sea.

Sea Kayka in Mochima National park - Venezuela

Day 1
Your guide pick you up at your hotel in Cumana or Puerto la Cruz or at Barcelona Airport, and together we prepare the boats and equipment for our journey, learn the safety instructions and the basic techniques of sea kayaking. We then leave the little village of Mochima to Manare Bay where we have a hearty lunch and practice new skills. In the afternoon, we paddle for 2 hours to East Caracas Island. With a bit of luck, we come across dolphins and have time to play with them for a while. Once on the island, we take out time to relax on the beach and to snorkel. We have dinner and overnight in Camp (BL)

Sea Kayka in Mochima National park - Venezuela Day 2
We set sail after breakfast towards the West Caracas Island where we stop to do some snorkelling. We then sail to the Santa Fe Bay and end the day at Arapo Island where we stop for the night and set up in camp. There are good possibilities to see dolphins also today. (BLD)

Day 3
Once again, we wake up early to dismantle and clean-up the campsite, have breakfast and set sail towards a site called "the pool" to swim and do some snorkelling. We then stop for a little rest on a beach called na-Cleta and finish our sailing day in Valle Seco where the vehicles are waiting for us. We load the kayaks and equipment and return to Mochima where we arrive at about 4pm. Transfer to your hotel in Cumana or Puerto la Cruz.(BL)
